Michelle Guda-Miyamoto

Director of Awesomeness, Wifey, Designated Driver

Born and raised in San Diego, California, Michelle is the Client Services, Social Media, and Marketing Director for Dave Miyamoto & Company. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, Michelle is here to walk you through each step of the way, to make sure that your photography experience is the best and most memorable time you can possibly have on your special day.

With over 29 years extensive experience in customer service as a seasoned professional Wedding Coordinator, Catering & Event Planning Manager, and Bridal Consultant in both California and Hawaii, Michelle can easily assist in finding solutions for questions or challenges that might arise in planning an event. Michelle has lived in Honolulu since 1997, and has been with Dave Miyamoto & Company for 13 years.

Michelle loves Saturday Night Live cast comedy movies, "The Secret", stand-up paddle surfing, great hair days, gardening, karaoke, sincere hearty laughs, and Moscato dessert wines. She is married to Dave Miyamoto, and together they are raising their doggies Nacho, Fonzie, and Iggy :)


Ryan Miyamoto

Ryan Miyamoto

Son, Cinematographer, Surfing Buddy

Following in the talented footsteps of his father Dave Miyamoto, Ryan has a keen and natural artistic eye for art of photography and motion pictures. He graduated from San Diego State University, with a degree in Television, Film, and New Media Production, where he was awarded by the SDSU Film Program as "Best Cinematographer". His senior thesis short film, Writers Block was featured in the San Diego Film Festival.

Ryan Co-Directed and filmed the feature length documentary Twinsters which was awarded "Best Documentary" at the LA Asian Film Festival and "Best Editing" at SXSW. Ryan's talents have lead him to opportunities to film and assist as a water cinematographer with Prickett Films, and has showcased his photographic talents with Billabong, National Geographic, and Explore.org to name a few. His film projects that have taken him to travels in Norway, Tahiti, Spain, Portugal, France, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Bali, Indonesia. 

In his off-time, you can find Ryan in the surf, or honing in on his filming and editing talents with personal projects of his own. Ryan has been photographing for over 9 years.


Claire Miyamoto

Claire Miyamoto

Daughter, Graphic Designer, YOGA & Surfing Buddy

Claire is also following in the talented footsteps of her father and brother. She graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in Film and Digital Media, Production Concentration. She received the Princess Grace JustFilms Honoraria Award for her social documentary in solidarity with the U’wa tribe in Colombia, in which she wrote and led all aspects of production. Claire currently does our logo and web design, and is an assistant shooter when she's back in town. She's been photographing for over 10 years.

Claire also teamed up with her brother on his SXSW Award Winning Documentary "Twinsters" as the Graphic Artist for the film. The following year, she was was the graphic designer for other Award Winning films such as "Best and Most Beautiful Things" and “Out of State”. She's currently working at 160over90 as a Sr. Designer and is studying to get her esthetician license. She hopes to eventually combine her interests in reiki and Hawaiian healing as a unique holistic skincare professional in addition to her graphic design profession. In her off time, she can be found surfing, practicing yoga, or dancing hula.


Paul Ota

Associate Photographer, Yogini, Astrology Fanatic

Originally from `Aina Haina, O'ahu, Paula Ota brings to our team a fresh spirit and an always positive vibe to whatever she encounters in back or front of the camera.

A true "people person" who is always interesting, always smiling, Paula has a love for being in nature where you can find beauty everywhere. Paula has shot features for The Real Word Magazine and Flux Magazine. Her favorite things to photograph are personal interactions, candid expressions, and kids, as they are emotionally raw beings. Her absolute favorite subject to photograph is her son, Judah.

Living her most authentic life, she is a second degree Reiki healer, Sun Yoga instructor, Real Estate Associate, an astrology fanatic, and loving mom and just an all encompassing awesome listener and positive being. Paula has been photographing with Dave Miyamoto & Company since 2011.


Erwin Resurrection

Erwin Resurrection

Associate Photographer, Tennis Enthusiast, Lover of Breakfast

Born and raised in Honolulu, Erwin is also one of Dave's premiere Associates. With his friendly and likeable personality, Erwin was a natural choice for Dave's team. As a freelance photographer, Erwin's talents lead him to live and work in San Francisco, California for 7 years, while attending the Academy of Art College of San Francisco. While in California, he sharpened his photography industry skills by working in a photo processing lab, and doing freelance photography shooting pageants, events, model portfolios, and portraits.

Presently, Erwin's love of wedding and commercial photography takes him regularly to California, Japan, and throughout the Hawaiian islands. A veteran in the photographic arts, Erwin has been shooting alongside Dave, for over 15 years. 

His love for the Hawaiian Islands brought him back home, where his next venture was in opening Double Take Photo Studio in Honolulu as a photographer and co-owner along with his best friend, and parents. Dave first came to know Erwin at this studio several years ago where Erwin's specialty was portraits and events.
